TACA and Community Involvement

Our TACA member companies are deeply involved in the communities in which they reside.

In addition to sponsoring hundreds of community youth sports teams, school sports programs and other charitable organizations throughout the state, our member companies are also partnering with nearby schools to give students an opportunity to learn about the industry.

For example, in Midlothian, Texas, Ash Grove Cement partnered with Midlothian High School to offer high school seniors an internship opportunity at the facility. In addition to gaining engineering experience, all of the students who apply for the program go through an interview process, which helps prepare them for future college and internship interviews. Selected students rotate through multiple departments where they work with experienced supervisors. Ash Grove’s proximity to Midlothian High School drives the success of the partnership.

“Ash Grove’s generous partnership with Midlothian High School has allowed our engineering students to have a real-world, hands-on experience while still in high school. This rare opportunity gives our students a huge advantage when applying to college engineering programs, as
